Joe Ferrera has over 40 years in Law Enforcement and Corrections. He began his career in 1977 and is still an active L/E Officer today. He has been a use of force/subject control instructor since 1987 and a firearms instructor since 1990. He has been an instructor with PPCT/Human Factors Science since 1985. He has presented at the American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers, International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors, The Canadian Police Use of Force Instructors Conference, Advanced Law Enforcement Training Camp, and many state and local training conferences. He has been a subject matter expert for his state and agencies. He is currently assigned to a training unit of a 1400 officer agency. He has appeared on the Law Enforcement Television Network and Policeone.com. He has done research on human performance under stress specifically in the areas of reaction time, movement time, and response time and Hick’s Law.
